~ Night time ~
Torque:
The further Torque cast his mind back, the more his memories became a blur. For the moment, he stood on the central reservation of a silent, sodium lamp-lit street. Memory served him back as far as regaining consciousness at the foot of a smallish ash tree; beyond that, memories were few and far between.
In both directions, a boulevard boggled the concept of perspective, endless as far as Torque was concerned. Either side, high-rise buildings formed two sides of a roofless, sunless corridor. Some of the buildings had been boarded up, but there was no light, nor sound, coming from within those that remained open.

Remi:
Remi stood gazing out of the top storey window gazing at the barren lifeless street below him. Questions buzzed around his head the way flies buzz around rubbish. He had woken on the floor of the 4th floor hallway of what appeared to be some kind of abandoned hotel. When he had awoken, all he knew was that he wasn't where he should be, this wasn't his home. As he had wandered around for answers, he had seen the name Remi on a door and had decided to make that his name, until he recovered his own. And now here he stood no closer to the truth than before. As he turned away form the window he heard a sound far below him in the street. Was that....a person? The room fell silent once more as Remi left in a hurry. "two heads are better than one, right?"

Torque:
Torque checked a satchel which hung loosely at his side. It contained very little; he could only find in its folds a small penknife, a blank sealed envelope, a bottle of mineral water and a curious device about the size and shape of a bank card, approximately four times the thickness.
VIEW INVENTORY - TORQUE Penknife ~ Water Bottle ~ Blank Envelope ~ Card Device
Torque, on seeing the water, suddenly noticed his thirst. He opened it and before long had depleted two-thirds of its contents. Feeling an indecipherable mixture of emotions, Torque wondered if he was the only person here. His memories consisted of the basics: the fact that people exist, and that they look similar to himself etc., basic knowledge of the world. He began to feel fear. Nobody was around, and the place was derelict. The instant question must be why. What happened, and where did everyone go.
He decided to take his penknife, and to carve a message into one of the boulevard's trees. He carved in a spiral fashion around the trunk, so nobody would miss it by being on the wrong side of the road.
He wrote: ANYBODY HERE? HAVE GONE THIS WAY, PLEASE FOLLOW
He finished off the message with a large arrow indicating which way he was intending to travel, and started off down the boulevard.

Remi
Remi walked down the streets one after the other hoping to find something to bring back his memories. nothing was helping. so far all he had found was some form of DIY scythe, However his instinct was telling him to keep searching. so search he did.
eventually, it payed off. ahead of him, was a carving on a tree. it looked fresh enough. there was an arrow as well. it could have been a trap, but right now, even a trap meant people. so off he went.

Torque
On Torque's left, he noticed a door that was not barricaded. He decided, since virtually none of these buildings were open, this one may be of significance. He stepped inside, away from the illumination of the street lamp and into almost complete darkness.
Torque fumbled for a light switch, but he found only the wired remains of a module that had been torn from the wall. He wandered blind for a second, until by a stroke of luck he encountered a table, on top of which a small cardboard box rested. He picked it up and opened it, spilling matches onto the floor. Torque cursed lightly and retrieved one from the floor, struck it, and looked around.
The room was, when Torque could see properly, alarming. Before he noticed the candle on the table opposite, he noticed the room's macabre decoration. The walls were an unnerving shade of reddish brown, and the floor made one's shoes slightly sticky. Torque reached for the candle and used the fading match to light it, picking up the rest of the matches and storing them for later.

Remi
Something wasnt right. he had followed the arrows but there was no one around. everything seemed quiet and there wasnt any movement.
if this was a trap, it was a pretty good one.
Deciding that falling into a trap wasnt desirable at the moment, Remi started to look around for somewhere to hide.

Torque
Torque placed his candle onto the table and his heart nearly paid a visit to his brain. The flame illuminated the face of a man, stripped of skin, matted with dried blood. Its expression was one of unmitigated horror. One could understand why. Torque let out a terrified moan and was out of the door before he could determine exactly how long the unfortunate victim had been dead.

Remi
suddenly there was a noise and it came from the building right by him. Remi ran inside and was shocked by the image in front of him.
the skinless corpse before him made him retch. was this the person who had moaned? impossible. this corpse wasnt fresh. this person had been dead for quite some time.
he looked around the room. if not the corpse, who had made that noise. probably the same person who had lit the candle on the table
one things was certain. he wasnt alone.

Altera
Upon awakening, Altera felt a sudden urge to close his eyes and return to the unconscious slumber, if only to escape the pain. His head ached and felt sore at the back, as if he'd been hit. However, after working up the effort to move around and checking his head, he felt no swelling or wounds. Now that Altera had begun moving and dared not stop, lest he did fall asleep again, he took note of his surroundings. He found himself in a small room, a door on one side and a window on the opposite wall. The two remaining walls were blank. He realized was wearing only a poncho with the name Altera stitched on, from which he took his name. Some proper clothing lay neatly folded in a corner, which he claimed but kept the poncho on top. He already felt a strange sense of attachment to the poncho, as it had been with him since the beginning of this strange experience. Altera tried the door but it was locked or boarded up on the other side. The window however was wide open but he found he was three storeys up.

Torque
From his hiding place just around the corner of the building, to which he had run to regain his composure and his breath, he saw a stranger. A fellow human, enter the room from which he had just fled. He heard no shout, no cry of alarm, and assumed that the stranger had not been phased by the sight of the unfortunate man in the building. Plucking up his courage, prepared to face the corpse again if it meant finding out what was going on, he walked nervously towards the building's entrance and spoke into it.
"Who's there?"

Altera
The young man stood at the window of this room he had found himself in. From above he could watch the scene below, whilst the people below were unaware of him. Altera watched as someone ran into the building opposite, before running back out after a few minutes. He thought he heard a noise but from this distance he couldn't be sure. Another person came round the corner of the street and entered the same building. The first person came back soon after and stood in the entrance of the building. Altera heard a faint noise that sounded almost like 'Who's there'. The temptation to call back was almost too much, but Altera decided to see how the two below were together before giving away his presence.

Remi:
Remi almost yelled in terror when he heard the voice. He hadn't heard anyone approach and he remained alone in the room. taking a few moments for preparation, he stepped cautiously outside. he didnt feel like taking a massive risk. who was to say the corpse behind him wasnt this persons doing. upon exiting the building, he noticed a man stood before him. "um, hi"

Torque
Torque had expected the young man to step out of the room but the first face-to-face sight of a human being since waking up... without any memories... made his stomach churn. His eyes widened and in a few awkward seconds of silence, Torque made the decision to attempt a conversation.
"Where am I? Who are you?" His head was too full of questions. The boy - he looked like a boy, ruddy, average height, and a shock of Gothically highlighted hair - stood silhouetted against the faint light of the candle behind. This silence was unnerving, and Torque took a half-step backwards.
